Closing Line Value measures how much the market moves toward our pick between when we predict and first pitch. Positive CLV means our model is finding edge; the market eventually agreed with us. We track this against the closing line because, in a $300B/year market, that's the only honest test of whether a prediction system has real edge versus just predicting with the consensus.
CLV here is computed against soft-book closes (FanDuel / DraftKings). A sharp-book reference (Pinnacle / Circa) is on the roadmap. Until then, treat positive CLV as necessary but not sufficient evidence of edge.
